Mailbox.org
German email and productivity suite that keeps your data on German servers. Starts at just 1 euro per month with calendar, cloud storage, and an office suite built in.

Mailbox.org is a Berlin-based email and productivity service run by the Heinlein Group, a German IT company with over 30 years of hosting experience. All your data stays on servers in Germany, protected by strict German and EU privacy law.
Most privacy email providers stop at email. Mailbox.org doesn't. Even the 1 euro per month plan includes a calendar and address book. The Standard plan at 3 euros adds an online office suite, cloud storage, web chat, and video calls. Think of it as a Google Workspace replacement, not just a Gmail alternative.
Security goes beyond the basics. A feature called Secure Mail Storage encrypts your inbox so even Mailbox.org staff can't read it. PGP encryption works right in the browser. Independent testers give the service top security scores, and there's no history of data breaches.
Worth knowing
No free plan exists. You get a 30-day trial, then it's at least 1 euro per month. Custom domains work through aliases, which trips up some users at first. The webmail got a major rebuild in late 2025 and still has rough edges in Firefox and Safari. Support response times have stretched to two weeks since the relaunch.
