How Brave handles your data, where it's stored, and what certifications back their claims.
United States (HQ: San Francisco, United States) / Brave Software, Inc.
Brave is GDPR compliant and has an appointed EU representative. The browser processes almost all data locally on your device. Browsing history, search queries, and page content never leave your computer. Sync between devices uses end-to-end encryption that Brave cannot read. The company does not collect, share, or sell personal data. Independent testing found Brave sends the least data back to its servers of any major browser. Optional features like Brave Rewards involve some data collection, but you have to turn them on yourself.
