Tuta
Email that nobody can read but you. Tuta encrypts everything from subject lines to contacts, all stored in Germany.

Tuta is an encrypted email service from Tutao GmbH, a founder-owned company in Hanover, Germany with about 41 employees. It encrypts your emails, contacts, and calendar so that nobody can read them. Not the company, not anyone else. Over 10 million people use it, including financial institutions and human rights organizations.
The encryption goes further than most competitors. Tuta encrypts subject lines too, which other secure email providers typically leave readable. It also skips IP logging by default, so the company holds very little data about you even if someone comes asking. All Tuta apps are open source and the code is public for anyone to check.
Beyond email, Tuta includes an encrypted calendar and contacts manager. You can send encrypted messages to people who don't use Tuta by setting a shared password. The service runs on servers in Germany powered by renewable energy.
Worth knowing
Tuta uses its own encryption protocol instead of PGP. That means you can only send encrypted emails to other Tuta users or through password-protected messages. Search is slower than you'd expect because everything has to be decrypted on your device first. The free plan gives you 1 GB of storage, which fills up quickly with attachments. Some users find the interface less polished than Proton Mail, and there's no way to insert links directly in the email composer.
